Turkey is a new tour destination for the St. Petersburg Opera
On November 02, 2020 the troupe of the theatre opens the international tour performance. The troupe will perform for the first time in Turkey on the stage of the Ozay Gonlum Hall of Denizli Nihat Zaybekchi Congress and Cultural Center in Denizli. The Gala concert of soloists and an orchestra of the St. Petersburg Opera will be shown to the Turksih audience. Conductor - Aleksandr Goikhman.
The program will include arias and duets from the most popular operas by Russian and foreign composers: P. Tchaikovsky, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, R. Shchedrin, A. Alyabyev, G. Verdi, G. Donizetti, C. Gounod, R. Leoncavallo and others.
The Cultural Center is the largest complex in the Municipality of Denizli. It includes several halls, a planetarium and exhibition spaces. Since its opening in March 2019, it has hosted both national and international forums, festivals, exhibitions and concerts.
The St. Petersburg Opera regularly presents the culture of St. Petersburg abroad at various forums and continues to perform at new venues. In honor of the 150th anniversary of the National Theater of Belgrade and the 20th anniversary of the Opera & Theatre Madlenianum, the St. Petersburg Opera toured in Serbia. In honor of the "Year of Theater in Russia in 2019" and the 100th anniversary of the Russian Drama Theatre named after Samed Vurgun, the St. Petersburg Opera concluded a tour in Baku (Azerbaijan), and as part of an exchange tour, the theatre performed in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan). The St. Petersburg Opera also took part in such international projects as: "Days of the Opera in Riga" (Latvia), "Days of the Opera in Tallinn" (Estonia), "Days of the Opera in Thessaloniki" (Greece). All performances staged by the theatre's artistic director, People's Artist of Russia Yuri Aleksandrov, and concert programs make an incredible impression on the audience in different countries.
