The main goal of the Onegin National Opera Award is to unite the Russian opera community. Based on the statements and wishes of representatives of the professional community, the organizing committee decided to supplement the award with events that create a platform for communication between professionals - singers, critics, conductors, directors and producers.
The idea of establishing the Onegin National Opera Award belongs to the General Director of the Award, Honored Artist of Russia Igor Tarasov, and the co-founder of the Russian Opera Company producer Lyubov Glazkova. The legendary baritone, world opera star, People's Artist of Russia, laureate of the USSR State Prize Sergei Leiferkus became the President of the Onegin National Opera Award.
