YURI ALEXANDROV RECEIVES THE STATE AWARD OF THE REPUBLIC OF TATARSTAN



The President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov granted the State Prize to the artistic director of the theatre “St. Petersburg Opera” Yuri Alexandrov for staging the opera by Reseda Akhiyarova "Syuyumbike" (2018) at the Musa Jalil Tatar State Opera & Ballet Theatre.
“This is a very important award for me, because it crowned the birth of a new Tatar opera on a historical theme. The performance to the music of Reseda Akhiyarova was created simultaneously with the composition of the opera, where much was clarified and developed in the course of joint work. It was a very interesting process”, Yuri Alexandrov says. (TASS News Agency).
Together with Yuri Alexandrov, the high awards were awarded to: Renat Salavatov (musical director and conductor), Viktor Gerasimenko (production designer), Gulnora Gatina (performer of the part of Syuyumbike).
The ceremony took place at the opening of the new building of the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan. The President of Tatarstan congratulated the laureates and thanked them for their attentive attitude to their work and high achievements for the good of the republic.
The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin, State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan, Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, Minister for Culture of Tatarstan Irada Ayupova and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
Recall that this is the second award of Yuri Alexandrov for the production of the national opera, earlier he was awarded the State Prize of Kazakhstan for the production of the opera "Abylai Khan" by E. Rakhmadiev on the stage of the Abai Theater.
