The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera has finished its touring to Moscow with a great success having staged three productions within the 2nd All-Russian festival “See the Music”.
The festival program presents the best musical performances of theatre companies from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Irkutsk, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg.
The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera has performed in Moscow, within the festival, with three performances: Johann Strauss’s “Die Fledermaus”, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” and Benjamin Britten’s “The Rape of Lucretia".
All the productions are staged by the artistic director of The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera, the People’s Artist of Russia Yuri Alexandrov.
Leading soloists of the theatre have taken part in the performances, many of them are the laureates of prestigious international contests.
The main roles in operetta “Die Fledermaus” were performed by Tatiana Kalchenko, Karolina Shapovalova, Vsevolod Kalmykov and Denis Akhmetshin.
“Don Giovanni” was performed with Yuri Borschev, Sergei Aleschenko, Evgeniya Kravchenko, Sofia Nekrasova and Efim Rastorguev.
For the very first time, the Moscow citizens were introduced to the original production of Benjamin Britten’s opera “The Rape of Lucretia”. Larisa Pominova, Viktoria Martemianova, Karolina Shapovalova, Alexei Pashiev, Egor Chubakov and Anton Morozov took part in the performance.
The conductors were Alexander Goikhman (“Don Giovanni”) and Maxim Valkov (“Die Fledermaus” and “The Rape of Lucretia”).
