The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera has been nominated for Onegin opera award
Onegin national opera award is aimed at ambitious goals such as promoting the Russian opera and setting the prospects for its further development as well as encouraging the country’s most promising opera companies and performers.
Over twenty opera and musical theatres from all over Russia participated in the competition for the first edition of Onegin national award.
The expert council watched forty performances premiered between September 2015 and September 2016. The long list of the nominees included soloists of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Rostov, Syktyvkar, Ufa and Cheboksary theaters.
The prize will be awarded in the following nominations: “Debut” (male and female), “Diva”, “The master of the scene”, “Guest”, “Cast”, as well as non-competitive nominations including “Theatre”, “Event”, “Legend”, “The soul of the opera”, ”Best accompanist " and ” Art pPatron ".
The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera has been nominated for Onegin, the first national opera award for The Young Guard, a play based on the opera by Julius Meytus and directed by People's Artist of Russia Yuri Alexandrov.
The awards ceremony will be held on November 27 at the Alexandrinsky Theatre as a gala concert featuring Russian and world opera stars.
