Featuring in July


In July, The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera will close its 29th season. The month’s programme shows all the diversity of the company’s repertoire. 

To begin with, the viewers who have not had time yet to attend the theatre’s premiere performances will have a chance to do so in July. July programme includes all the important premiers of the season such as Les pêcheurs de perles by Georges Bizet (July 1), Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni (July 15) and L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Donizetti (July 16). The new productions have been made by the theatre’s artistic director, People's Artist of Russia Yuri Alexandrov. 
International classic will be represented with Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo (July 13), while the Russian classic will be embodied with Eugene Onegin by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (July 20). 
Operetta lovers will enjoy La belle Hélène by Jacques Offenbach (July 2) and Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss (July 17). 
Concerts are an important part of the theatre’s July programme. The audience will appreciate thematic concerts including Music of 19th century St. Petersburg (July 7 and 14), The Night of Russian Romances (July 8), Paris Mysteries (July 10), Vienna melodies (July 24). The theatre has also prepared a new program for July that will include Familiar melodies of Italy (July 6), Great Soviet pop music (July 9), All about love (July 22) and The music of love (July 23). 
The gala concert titled World Classic Masterpieces featuring the theatre’s leading soloists will be held on July 21.
