Summary of the 28th theatre season


A brilliant concert "Oh, operetta, operetta!" Chamber Music the St. Petersburg Chamber Opera finished 28th theater season full of events, premieres and touring performances. 

The highlight of the season was the premiere of “Il barbiere di Siviglia” by Gioachino Rossini, the composer whose works the theatre had never staged before. 
The Theatre toured from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, East Russia to Jekabpils, Latvia, giving performances in Tambov, Yaroslavl and Kostomuksha. 
Many of the performances and concerts were dedicated to significant dates. The 175th anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky was marked by a special gala concert and a series of chamber concerts featuring the composer's songs. Also, the 75th anniversary of Valery Gavrilin was marked with the concert “Oh, Evening, Evenin”. 
The theatre pays a lot of attention to young audience. Concert programme “The crystal sound of the Magic Harp” has been designed specially for children. 
This season the theatre repertoire was complemented with new special concert programs “Oh, I cannot forget you, captivating sounds… “, “Once again about love”, “Songs from the movies”, “Romance of the White Nights” and gala concerts dedicated to the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Puccini and Strauss. 
The troupe led by its founder, Yuri Alexandrov is full of creative ideas, inspiration and energy. We are looking forward to starting the new season and meeting our beloved audience again.
