The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera closed its summer tour with the performance at the Jekabpils festival where it presented “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss.
The Latvian audience greeted The Chamber Opera festival performance with thunderous applause.
The performance was attended by head of Jekabpils Culture Department and festival director Inta Ubele and the chairman of Jekabpils City Council Leonid Saltsevich.
Successful performance of the St.-Petersburg artists was highly appreciated by the media. The critics noted the soloists’ acting and vocal skills and the cohesion of the orchestra. Generally, according to the critics, "the merry Strauss operetta as directed by Alexandrov, gained a new contemporary touch".
