Opera Days in Jekabpils, an International Music Festival, has been held in Latvia for four years, and, traditionally, the performance of The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera is considered one of its main events. Performances staged by the theatre’s artistic director, People's Artist of Russia, Yuri Alexandrov are well known to the Latvian audience. What’s more, Yuri Alexandrov was one the founders of Jekabpils festival.
This year, the theatre brings to the festival one of its most popular performances, the brilliant “Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss directed by Yuri Alexandrov. The sparkling show has won the viewers’ hearts, and in 2013 was awarded The Golden spotlights, the highest drama prize of St. Petersburg as the best operetta performance.
“Die Fledermaus” will be presented in The St. Petersburg Chamber Opera (33, Galernaya St.) in the new season. The nearest performance is scheduled for September 12th.
