This opera is about those who play, write and compose, those who don’t separate life from art and live in the two worlds simultaneously. It is about difficult relationships between an artist and a tyrant. It is mortal danger to live for the sake of art and love. But no other life is possible. That’s why the artist Cavaradossi doesn’t leave his pencil and paper until his final hour and Tosca perishes to the applauses of her executioners having finished her final part.
